Branding Project

2024

As I conclude my fifth and final year at UC, I am pleased to present my honors capstone project, which focuses on the launch of an e-commerce fashion retail brand. This comprehensive project involved creating a brand proposal, developing a solid business model, designing user-friendly app and website mockups, and producing engaging visual content for social media platforms.

This project is a significant milestone in my journey toward a career in graphic design, as it merges my passion for visual creativity with my academic background. With a minor in Fashion Studies at DAAP, I've immersed myself in courses like fashion marketing, consumer behavior, and trend forecasting. These courses have equipped me with a deep understanding of how fashion brands navigate the market and adapt to shifting trends, all of which informed the development of my brand, Simplici.

Simplici is a brand I created that combines luxurious, sustainable products with versatility for any occasion. With a focus on eco-conscious

materials and timeless design, Simplici aims to empower customers to embrace fashion that aligns with their values.

Simplici Mission

While financials have traditionally been a challenge, I significantly pushed myself to understand the costs of goods and production for sustainable fashion, as well as how to project potential revenue streams. Simplici Marketing

The final phase of the project focused on creating visual content, including a comprehensive branding kit, social media visuals, email templates, and mockups for the app and website. I also designed product catalogs and marketing materials, ensuring every piece was aligned with Simplici’s brand identity. This hands-on work helped bring the brand to life visually, allowing me to refine my design skills and develop a cohesive aesthetic for the brand across multiple platforms.

While some ideas, such as large-scale marketing initiatives or collaborations, may not be immediately feasible due to funding constraints, the process was invaluable in helping me think critically about Simplici’s potential for growth. It pushed me to consider how the brand could evolve and scale in the future, ultimately enhancing my strategic mindset. This experience not only strengthened my design skills but also provided me with a more comprehensive understanding of brand development and business strategy—knowledge that will be immensely beneficial as I continue to grow in my career.
